Community Mourns Loss of Civic Leader Print E-mail


Brentwood Borough is saddened to announce the passing of Councilwoman Ann Schade, who died on January 19th, 2014. Mrs. Schade had served on the Borough's governing body for the past 13 years and was recently elected to a new four-year term.  She had been employed by the Brentwood School District as an administrative secretary at Elroy Elementary School for 32 years.  A pillar of the community, Mrs. Schade was not only active in local politics but was also involved in a wide array of nonprofit organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband David, whose seat she assumed on Borough Council.

At its January 20th meeting, Council honored Mrs. Schade's legacy through a moment of silence.  Visitation will be held at the John Slater Funeral Home, which is located at 4101 Brownsville Road, on January 22nd from 6PM to 8PM and again on January 23rd from 10AM to 12PM.

Public Meeting Scheduled; Borough Seeks Citizen Commentary on Zoning Revisions Print E-mail


The Borough is seeking input from residents, business owners, and property owners on the proposed changes to the Borough's outdated Zoning Code. Notice is hereby given by the Borough of Brentwood for a Public Meeting to be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, 6:00PM at the municipal building. The purpose of this meeting is to formally unveil the proposed revisions to our Zoning Ordinance and to provide an opportunity for public commentary and input prior to the Borough's anticipated adoption of the new Zoning Code at the March 26, 2013 Regular Council meeting. A copy of the Proposed Zoning Code and revised Zoning Map can be obtained at the municipal building or on the Borough's webpage under the Project Studies Folder.

Council Contemplates Tougher Solicitation Ordinance Print E-mail


During the January 22, 2013 Regular Meeting, Brentwood Borough Council will consider adopting Ordinance No. 2013-1212 entitled “Transient Retail Businesses, Panhandling, & Solicitation.” This ordinance proposes to amend in its entirety Chapter 194 of the Brentwood Borough Code. This new legislation intends to impose clearer, more stringent regulations on individuals seeking to solicit Borough residents for commercial purposes.  A full copy of the text of this ordinance can be obtained at the municipal building or by accessing the Borough website.
