Civil Service Commission Print


The Civil Service Commission is charged was delivering fair and independent decisions regarding Police Department personnel matters.  The board meets on an as-needed basis to assure that hiring and promotions are performed in accordance with both civil service rules and the terms of the collective bargaining contract.  The three appointed commissioners determine candidate eligibility to take the appropriate civil service test and make recommendations to Council based upon exam results.
