Borough Looks to Hire New Director of Recreation Print E-mail

 

Although Brentwood's Department of Parks & Recreation only recently sprouted from humble beginnings, it has already made a tremendous impact on the community.  In order to ensure the continued sustainability of our programs and events, the Borough is seeking to fill the open position of Director of Recreation. Prospective candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in physical education, recreation administration, or a related field and have a minimum two years experience in recreational program management. Borough Council has not yet determined whether the successful applicant will be employed part time (24 hours per week) or full time (40 hours per week). Additionally, this position will require occasional night and weekend work for the purposes of overseeing programs and attending meetings with elected officials. Candidates must possess current CPR/First Aid certifications.

Two Ordinances to be Considered for Council Adoption Print E-mail

 

At its December 8 Regular Meeting, Brentwood Borough Council will consider adopting a pair of new ordinances.  Through Ordinance 2014-1232, the Borough seeks to update its sewage billing and collection procedures.  Ordinance 2014-1233 will address the 2015 real estate tax rate, which is unchanged from the 2014 assessment of 8.75 mils.  Collected taxes will be earmarked as follows:

 

Police Department ..... 5.35 mils

Debt Service ..... 1.52 mils

Capital Improvements ..... 1.38 mils

Public Library ..... 0.50 mils

Special Meeting Rescheduled Print E-mail

 

Brentwood Borough Council was set to conduct a special meeting on November 6th at 8PM at the municipal building. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss personnel matters related to the suspension of the chief of police.  In order to give the Civil Service Commission an opportunity review testimony, this meeting has been rescheduled.  A Civil Service hearing will be held on November 10th at 10AM.  Council will hold a special meeting on the same date at 8:15PM.
