Did You Know?

Chapter 174 by the Brentwood Borough code prohibits scavenging of refuse, littering and dumping.

Mayor Kenneth Lockhart

MayorHello,

Brentwood Borough is a very unique Community in several ways.  It is a small community with approximately 11,000 residents, all existing within 1.5 square miles.  You will find many life long residents of Brentwood Borough.

Given our size, we are privileged to have our own School District.  The District consists of two elementary schools at each end of the Borough and one Middle/Senior High School, located in the heart of Brentwood.  If you are student at Brentwood, you live in walking distance to your school.  School bus service is not available nor necessary.  Other schooling options include a private parochial school at St. Sylvester’s parish.  All of these host year long activities supported by the students and residents.

Brentwood Borough is fortunate to offer outstanding Public Safety to our residents including Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

The Members of Brentwood Business Owners Association (BBOA) includes representatives from our grocery store, gas stations, retail stores and restaurants.  The BBOA works closely with the Borough and the School District and plays an integral part in Community affairs.

Brentwood Library offers many activities for all to enjoy including our famous Morning Coffee Hour, storytelling, crafts and “Family Fun Night”.

Brentwood offers a wide variety of churches with numerous adult and youth activities.  And, Brentwood is fortunate to have our own Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 1810 that is very community oriented.

Our biggest day of the year is our annual 4th of July celebration.  Folks from all over the South Hills visit Brentwood to cheer on the racers and walkers during the 5K race, watch the parade pass them by along Brownsville Road, and watch spectacular fireworks at the end of the day.

As you can see we are packed tight in our 1.5 square miles, but not so tight that there isn't always a welcome smile here for you.  We hope you come and visit us and stay a while.
