K9 Unit
The K9 "Ranger" had been in service in Brentwood since November 1999. During his career he had over 900 thousand in cash and drug finds. He had also located 5 lost children and one elderly person with Alzheimer's. He also had 14 street felony apprehensions, the most of any dog in Western Pennsylvania.

On October 18, 2007, “Ranger” our K-9 police dog was put down due to health reasons. Ranger had cancer in the hip area, after the hip surgery, Ranger continued to have problems and was unable to walk. Therefore, it was due to health reasons that Ranger was put-down.   Ranger was with the Borough since 1999, and his handler was Police Officer Milton Mulholland, III.  Ranger and Officer Mulholland were a team that was well known throughout the Borough.  The Borough is currently seeking funds to purchase another K-9 for the Borough. Ranger will be missed by the Borough employees and residents.
