Winter maintenance requires the Public Works to clear the roadways and alleys of snow and ice for residents and emergency vehicles which can be difficult when vehicles are parked illegally (fire lanes, fire hydrants, stop signs, and parking too close to intersections).

The Brentwood Borough School District was ranked 28 out of 105 school districts in Pennsylvania. 

For the past four years, the Pittsburgh Business Times has ranked 105 school districts according to their PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) test scores.  The 105 school districts are located in the seven-county Pittsburgh metropolitan area consisting of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland.  The Pittsburgh Business Times further ranks each grade level's PSSA performance.  When comparing the school district to the remaining 104, grade 11 ranked 11th, grade 8 ranked 71st, grade 7 ranked 29th, grade 6 ranked 20th, grade 5 ranked 41st, grade 4 ranked 36th, and grade 3 ranked 37th.  The Pittsburgh Business Times also ranked the Brentwood Borough School District in the top 25% of all school districts throughout the state with a rank of 94 out of 501.
