  • Community Day: Join friends and neighbors at Brentwood Park on July 1st.  Featuring a diverse assortment of food vendors, crafts, games, music, and children's activities.  Cap off an enjoyable day by attending a free rendition of Elvis Pressley tunes from Kavan & The Memphis Flash Band.

     

    Roadway & Sidewalk Projects: Pursuant to the five-year street improvement plan, the Borough is scheduled to rehabilitate sections of Bookman Avenue, Dailey Road, Brednick Street, Munsey Avenue, and several alleys. Brentwood will also continue its successful shared cost sidewalk restoration program by making necessary repairs on Bookman Avenue, Brentwood Avenue, and Clermont Avenue.

     

    Military Banners: These commemorative displays will be exhibited annually from Memorial Day to Veterans Day.  To view a list of program participants, please click here.  Additional space is available.  Complete the progam application to enroll.

    Pool Improvements: Phase I of this critical project is scheduled to commence upon the close of the 2017 season.  Primary components include the installation of a liner to protect the pool shell, the replacement of the concrete deck, and the creation of a new handicapped accessible entranceway. 

Testing Scheduled to Evaluate Police Officer Candidates

 

The presence of a dedicated, well-trained police force is imperative for keeping our residents safe. Brentwood Borough will join seven peer municipalities by participating in a joint officer qualification test. Interested individuals must complete the attached application and return via mail or hand delivery with a $50 fee to the South Hills Area Council of Governments offices at 2600 Old Greentree Road, Carnegie, PA 15106. Applications will be processed through July 25th at 5PM. Both a physical agility and written knowledge test will be administered on August 12th at 1PM at the Castile Shannon Volunteer Fire Station.

 

In accordance with the regulations adopted by the Borough’s Civil Service Commission, applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must have previously completed a police academy training program that meets of the criteria of Pennsylvania Act 120. Additionally, candidates are required to possess an associate’s degree, to have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of university-level coursework, or to have previously been employed as a law enforcement officer for a minimum of two years.

 
Committee Arranges Meeting to Examine Commercial Parking Regulations

 

A special meeting of the Parking Committee will take place on June 27th at 7PM.  The primary topic of conversation will be commercial vehicle storage restrictions.

 
Borough Solicitoring Vendor Bids For Pool Improvements; Construction Scheduled for Fall

 

Brentwood Borough is preparing to make a significant investment in ensuring the vitality of its community swimming pool.  Upon the close of the current operating season, this cherished facility will be reinvgorated through the installation of a pool liner, the replacement of the antiquated gutter system, the refurbishment of the concrete deck, and the installation of a handicapped accessible zero-depth entry zone.  Qualified contractors are invitied to tender bids for this exciting project, which will be accepted through 10AM on July 20th.  Specifications can be attained from The Gateway Engineers upon receipt of a nonrefundable fee of $75.  Interested applicants are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting, which will be held on July 6th at 9AM in the Brentwood Library Community Room.  For more information, consult the attached notification.
