Volunteers Needed to Aid Community Beautification Print E-mail

 

On October 18th, Brentwood Borough will become a "Redd-Up Zone," as local residents help to improve the aesthetics of our municipality.  Civic-minded individuals are called upon to assist with removing unsightly litter and and other debris from our streets, sidewalks, and public spaces.  The Borough is proud to announce that it has once against partnered with the University of Pittsburgh to enlist the aid of hardworking and conscientious members of its student body.  To register as a volunteer, contact DPW Supervisor Robert Mackewich at 412-884-1500 x113.  The event will be held from 1000AM to 200PM and will commence at the Brentwood Civic Center.

Popular Vendors to Appear at Food Truck Event Print E-mail

 

Residents are invited to savor the flavors of several local restaurateurs at the Brentwood-Baldwin-White Hall Chamber of Commerce Summer Food Truck Festival.  Enjoy slow-cooked Southern classics from South Side BBQ, Cajun creations from Pittsburgh Po'Boy, specialty slices from Fire Truck Pizza, frozen treats from Sugar 'n Spice, and homemade baked goods from Beatnik Sweets. The event takes place on Thursday, August 24th in the central parking lot of Baldwin High School. These mobile kitchens will be serving their specialties from 5PM to 7PM.

Teen Participation in Safe Driving Pledge Could Lead to Concert by Superstars Print E-mail

 

The acquisition of a driver’s license is one of the seminal moments in the life of a young adult.  Brentwood Borough and the Brentwood School District encourage local teenagers to safely and responsibly enjoy this privlege.  To expand youth knowledge of the rules of the road, the school district has enrolled in the State Farm Insurance Company's "Celebrate My Drive" program.  By taking the safe driving pledge at www.celebratemydrive.com, students can not only gain information that can improve their skills behind the wheel but will also be entered for a chance to receive a free concert by chart topping country group The Band Perry in their own school! Enrolled middle school and high school students aged 14 and up can submit one commitment per day from October 15th through the 24th.
