Government, Nonprofit Programs Help Residents Stay Warm Print E-mail


Low income families can receive a helping hand to keep the heat running this winter season. Households earning less than 150% of the federal poverty line, which is set at $17,505 for individuals and $35,775 for families of four, may be eligible to obtain direct cash grants paid to their heating utility company through the Low Income Energy Assistance Program. To apply, residents must provide social security information and proof of income.  For more information, call 866-857-7095 or visit the "Compass" web portal. Families who are denied or do not quality for government funding may be eligible to receive similar aid from the Dollar Energy Fund. Application criteria can be obtained online here.

"Turkey Bingo" Benefits the Less Fortunate Print E-mail


Gobble, gobble! On November 24th, St. Sylvester's Catholic School will be holding an exciting game of "Turkey Bingo." Participants will have the opportunity to receive cash prizes, and one lucky player will take home $500. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be used to make a holiday donation to the Brentwood Food Pantry. Advanced tickets are available for $15. Borough Retains Traditional Trick-or-Treat Print E-mail


While other communities have shifted the dates of Trick-or-Treat, Brentwood continues to schedule this important youth event on Halloween. From 6PM to 8PM on October 31st, our little ghouls, goblins, and gremlins will be haunting local streets in search of sweet and salty snacks! Borough officials remind parents and children to adhere to the simple tips noted on the attached list to ensure a safe and festive experience.
