Community Spirit Evident in Labor of Cleanup Participants Print

The Borough wholeheartedly thanks the participants of the cleanup event described below by organizer Michelle Kirkpatrick. We appreciate the commitment of our residents to maintaining a friendly and attractive community.

“On November 16th, Brentwood residents and friends gathered to clean the section of Brentwood Avenue known as “The Hollow”. Organized by the Kirkpatrick Family of Shadyway Drive, the crew of 25 volunteers worked to remove 26 bags of trash, 40 bags of recyclables, 32 tires, numerous shingles, a variety of scrap metal and more! Some of our favorite items include bicycles, a snowboard, scooters, an air conditioner, a boiler vessel, a wheelbarrow, half of a swing set, and an above ground pool liner. Many thanks to Giant Eagle, Dollar Tree, and Allegheny CleanWays for their contributions, to the Borough for disposing of the cleared debris, and to all the neighbors who were willing to get dirty for a good cause!”
