PennDot Works to Keep Municipalities, Citizens Abreast of Route 51 Upgrades Print

 

On June 15, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation launched a $15.9 million project to repair Route 51 between Lebanon Church Road and the Liberty Tunnels. Construction will include road milling and resurfacing, signal improvements, drainage enhancements, curb upgrades, bridge repairs, pavement markings, and other critical items. Although road repairs are critical for ensuring that people and goods and can safely reach their intended destinations, it is acknolwedged that construction delays can become a significant headache for time-strapped travellers. PennDot has set up several mechanisms to keep both local officials and the general public informed about this major project, which is scheduled to run through June 2016.  Individuals can view construction information and project time tables electronically here.
