Summer Sizzler Brings Food, Libations, & Fun

Residents should be "mindful" that, due to the heavy turnout at recent events, a second South Hills brewery will be making an appearance at our upcoming street fair. At our July 27th "Summer Sizzler," guests can sample balanced, refreshing pours Bethel Park's Spoonwood Brewing and Castle Shannon's Mindful Brewing. Complement your beverage with a gourmet sausage from Hot Dawgz or a hearty ramen bowl from Miso Hungry. Don't forget dessert! The smell of goey cinnamon rolls from Hot Bunz will waft through the air, while the ice cream from Sugar & Spice will leave you "screaming" for more. The night will also feature live music, games-of-chance, and another opportunity for patrons to test their ax throwing skills. Join us on Brownsville Road opposite the municipal building from 6PM to 10PM as a scorching summer day transitions to a mild evening.

Pair of Free Movies to be Screened in June

Make your summer nights memorable. Join us on back-to-back Saturday evenings to experience the opening stanza to our summer movie series. First, on June 8th, witness a baseball-themed classic from the heart of the diamond. "The Sandlot" tells the coming-of-age story of Scotty Smalls as he learns about friendship, love, and America's pastime. In the 25 years since its initial release, the tale has become a cult favorite. On June 15th, a recent release comes to Brentwood. "Ralph Breaks the Internet" is the second installment in the misadventures of a gentle giant from the world of the video arcade. The show begins at dusk on Field #3 in our park.

Community Support Needed to Beautify Park Tree Canopy

Through the help of an award from the state-sponsored Treevitalize initiative, Brentwood Park is set to become more verdant. A total of 40 trees will be planted on the site at minimal cost to the Borough. The selected species include a combination of those that will grow large and create a shady reprieve from the summer heat and those that will serve a more decorative function by vividly blossoming each spring season. Residents are requested to roll up their sleeves and grab a shovel to on Saturday, May 11th at 7:30AM, as this volunteer-driven effort becomes a reality. Hard work will be rewarded with refreshments!
